i don't think you understand how badly i wish i'd taken french.
it was what i wanted to take in the first place, but spanish is more “practical”.
Take it anyway. Do what you want. You’ll run into the French language more than you think. And if you decide to live in France or a francophone country then which would be more practical?
I probably will in college or something. We had to pick which language to take before going into 7th grade, and I wound up taking Spanish up through last year (my Junior year).
I live in Oklahoma, and Spanish was something that I was definitely pressured to take since there is a “large” Spanish speaking community here. But my intention has always been to live in France. So I took French in High School, and continued to do so in college. For practicalities sake I took Spanish one year and wound up doing horrible at it. I’m sure a lot of that had to do with the fact that I didn’t want to take it. I hope you’re able to take it someday. It’s such a beautiful language <3
